First-Time Homebuyer Program
Down payment and closing cost funds are a big inhibitor which prevent many people from buying their first home. Often times potential buyers are paying as much in rent as they might pay toward a mortgage, but they cannot secure the funds needed for a down payment.
CAHMCO has been administering a first-time homebuyer program since 1998, serving more than 375 homebuyers since that time.
CAHMCO has funds remaining for two or three small grants. It anticipates having additional funds prior to the end of 2010 and will post updates on this web page as they become available.
